Appreciating Lisbon, Balsamic Art, Turning 40
Howdy,
Wow, I’m a bit late getting this one out!
I can’t tell if life just moves faster with a baby, or if it’s just a blur either way…
This month, our Sabina turned 3 months old, I hit 40, and Olivia and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary!

Appreciating Lisbon
Maybe it’s because I’m simply out of the house much less, but since Sabina was born, I’ve found myself appreciating aspects of Lisbon I didn’t before.
Our plan has always been to move back to the US at some point, and even though actually having a baby here has prompted us to delay that decision, I still feel like there’s a lot to discover here.
Olivia and I had a few glasses of champagne at a place called Palacio Chiado for Valentine’s Day, and I couldn’t help but may more attention to the ceiling than I normally would have.

Idea:
Olive Oil/ Balsamic art
Olivia and I were at a Valentine’s day meal a few weeks ago and the waiter poured the balsamic into the olive oil, as they do, and I noticed for the first time a missed opportunity.
How cool would it be if they formed the balsamic into a shape!?
I think they’d need a special device to dispense the balsamic, but I’m pretty sure this is doable to some degree.
A mockup:

Somebody make this happen.
Have I ever mentioned that it’s my long term goal to have a studio/maker space where myself and a small team can invent things all day long….
Thought:
Turning 40
This milestone is a strange one for me because it’s hard to separate from so many other big life events that happened in the past 12 months (see intro).
I wonder if you always just feel younger than you think you’d feel when you turn a certain age.
I remember when I turned 30, I still felt very spry.
I still do at 40.
Not nearly as much as I did when I turned 30, but much more than I thought I would ten years ago.
Do hangovers get worse every year? Yes. But they are also farther apart.
Do I take a bit longer to heal from an injury? Yes.
Is my memory quite as good as it used to be? No. Hopefully, we’re trading that for wisdom as the years go on 😆.
See ya next month!
